Poursuit ("Poursuit," "we," "us") is operated by Foxx Designs LLC. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and the choices you have. We built Poursuit to be privacy-friendly: we do not sell your data, we do not run advertising, and we do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

1. Information we collect
We collect only what the app needs to work:
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Apple or Google, the identifier they provide. Authentication is handled by our backend provider; we do not store your password.
- Location. With your permission, we use your device location to find happy hours and venues near you. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings; the app will then ask you to search by area instead.
- Saved venues and feedback. Venues you favorite, and any feedback you give on whether a listed deal was accurate.
- Push notification token. If you enable notifications, a device token so we can deliver them.
- Subscription information. If you subscribe to Poursuit+, Apple or Google processes the payment; we never receive your payment card details. We receive your subscription status, the product you subscribed to, and store transaction identifiers through our subscription provider so the app can unlock your access and keep it current across your devices.
- Expansion waitlist. If you ask us to notify you when Poursuit reaches your area, we keep your email address and the approximate location you were in when you asked, solely to send that notification.
- Venue owner claims. If you claim a venue as its owner, we collect the business contact details you submit (name, business email, and phone) so we can review and verify ownership.
- Crash diagnostics. If the app crashes, we collect technical diagnostics (error traces and device/app state) through our crash-reporting provider to fix bugs. These reports are not used to identify you.
- Break the Ice information (optional). Only if you turn on Break the Ice: your display name, an optional profile photo, your confirmation that you are of legal drinking age, your venue check-ins while the feature is active, and your history of gestures sent and received. See Section 3.
We do not collect your phone number, and we do not use advertising identifiers, analytics SDKs, or third-party trackers.
2. How we use information
- To show you nearby happy hours and venues, and to power search, the map, and your favorites.
- To create and manage your account and keep it secure.
- To operate Break the Ice if you choose to use it.
- To send notifications you have enabled.
- To diagnose crashes and improve reliability.
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. Break the Ice
Break the Ice is an optional, in-venue social feature. It is turned off unless you enable it, and you can disable it at any time, which removes you from discovery.
While you are checked in at a participating venue and Break the Ice is enabled, other people checked in at the same venue may see your display name, your photo (if you added one), and that you accept a drink, food, or a message.
Poursuit does not collect payment information of any kind. Break the Ice gestures are invitations only; if you accept one, anything purchased happens at the venue between the people involved. We never process, hold, or facilitate payments.
You can block any user at any time, which hides you from them and them from you. You can also report a user; reports help us keep the feature safe.
4. Location
Location is used to find venues and deals near you and to power the map and distance information. We request location only when you use features that need it, and we honor your device-level permission choices. If you decline location, you can still use the app by searching for an area.
5. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share information only as follows:
- With other users, only as described in Section 3 (Break the Ice), and only to the limited extent stated there.
- With service providers who process data on our behalf to run the app (Section 6).
- For legal reasons, if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or us.
- In a business transfer, if Poursuit is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you of any change in how your information is handled.
6. Service providers
We use a small number of providers strictly to operate the app. They process data only as needed to provide their service:
- Supabase — backend, database, and authentication.
- Google — venue information and mapping (Google Places and Maps).
- Sentry — crash and error diagnostics.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivery of push notifications you have enabled.
- RevenueCat — subscription status and purchase receipt validation (payments themselves are processed by Apple or Google).
All connections between the app and these services use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
7. Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app. You can delete your account at any time:
- In the app: Settings (gear icon) → Delete Account, then confirm.
- By email: contact privacy@poursuit.app with the subject "Delete my account."
When you delete your account, we remove your profile and associated personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records by law. Crash diagnostics that do not identify you may be retained in aggregate.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Data is encrypted in transit, access to your data is restricted by per-user database security rules so that one user cannot read another user's private information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to address issues responsibly.
9. Children
Poursuit is intended for adults of legal drinking age and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your rights and choices
You can access, correct, or delete your information through the app or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights:
- California (CCPA/CPRA): the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
- EEA/UK (GDPR): the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data, and to object to certain processing. Our legal bases are your consent (for optional features and location), performance of our agreement with you, and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the app.
To exercise any right, email privacy@poursuit.app.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Poursuit after a change means you accept the updated policy.
